Causes of Achilles Tendonitis and Ankle Pain

Achilles tendinitis is an overuse injury of the Achilles tendon, the band of tissue that connects calf muscles at the back of the lower leg to your heel bone.  Over training and running are the main causes of this injury.

Achilles tendinitis most commonly occurs in runners who have increased the intensity or duration of their runs. It's also common in middle-aged people who play sports where there is alot of leg movement, such as tennis or basketball. If this is not treated fast this can cause serious pain issues later for a person.

Most cases of Achilles tendinitis can be treated with  simple excercises to strengthen the tendon and ankle. Click here to view the best achilles / ankle excerecises.
